Pam Bates - The Magic Resides in the Letting Go

Pamela Bates - The Magic Resides in the Letting Go

EPISODE 66

If you know that you want to make art but often find yourself making excuses, this is the episode for you. I am joined today by abstract artist, Pamela Bates.

Pamela worked in marketing and design for 22 years until a visit to the Gardner Art Museum in Boston changed the direction of her life. She realised that what she truly wanted to do was paint and since that moment she has been doing exactly that. Painting, exploring, healing, growing and embracing all aspects of living a creative life.

In this episode, Pamela shares her story and we dig in deep with the mindset side of making art. We talk about letting go of judgement, abandoning habits of perfection and opening yourself up to opportunities.

A few things you will hear about in this episode:

  • Shifting your life’s focus.

  • Letting go of judgement, perfectionism and excuses.

  • Exploring different ways to build an art business.

  • Art as a tool for healing, self-discovery and growth.

  • Seeing the signs and making the most of opportunities.

This conversation gave me tingles and inspired me to stop making excuses and get back in my studio. If you want to see what I have been up to, join me for the vlog where I get started on a big abstract canvas.
